Dr. Hibbs performs free dentistry during Operation Lone Star
In July 2003 Dr. Hibbs participated in an humanitarian mission known as Operation Lone Star.
Operation
Lone Star is a two-week medical and dental training exercise made possible by
the combined efforts of civilian health professionals and U. S. military medical
personnel. This unique exercise provides free dental and medical services to Rio
Grande Valley residents who lack access to traditional preventive health care.
Last
year, OLS provided health screenings, care, and medication for more than 6,000
local residents. The total monetary value of all services offered was nearly $1
million.
